Surah Ali 'Imran (“The Family of Imraan”) is the 3rd surah of the Quran: a Madinan surah of 200 ayahs.
Background
A Madinan surah named after the family of ‘Imran, the father of Maryam. Its first part answers the Christian delegation of Najran; a long section (121–175) reflects on the Battle of Uhud in 3 AH.

Virtue
Recite Al-Baqarah and Aal-‘Imran, the two radiant ones: they will come on the Day of Resurrection like two clouds, pleading for those who recited them (Muslim 804).
