Hadith 272 Sahih
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بِمَكَّةَ وَالسَّمَاءُ مُغِيمَةٌ فَخَشِيَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتَرَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ انْكَشَفَ الْغَيْمُ فَرَأَى أَنَّ عَلَيْهِ لَيْلاً فَشَفَعَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَلَمَّا خَشِيَ الصُّبْحَ أَوْتَرَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ ‏.‏
রেওয়ায়ত ১৯. মালিক (রহঃ) হইতে বর্ণিত, নাফি (রহঃ) বলিয়াছেনঃ তিনি মক্কার পথে আবদুল্লাহ ইবন উমর (রাঃ)-এর সঙ্গে ছিলেন। তখন আকাশ ছিল মেঘাচ্ছন্ন। তাই আবদুল্লাহ (ইবন উমর) (রাঃ) ভোর হওয়ার আশংকা করিলেন এবং এক রাকাআত বিতর পড়িয়া লইলেন। অতঃপর মেঘ দূরীভূত হইলে তিনি দেখিলেন এখনও রাত্রি কিছু অবশিষ্ট আছে। তখন তিনি আর এক রাকাআত দ্বারা জোড় (নামায) করিয়া নিলেন। অতঃপর দুই-দুই রাকাআত করিয়া আরও নামায পড়িলেন। যখন প্রভাত নিকটবর্তী মনে করিলেন তখন এক রাকাআত বিতর পড়িয়া লইলেন।
Yahya related to me from Malik that Nafi said, "I was with Abdullah ibn Umar in Makka. The sky was clouded over and Abdullah feared that dawn was approaching so he prayed one raka for witr. Then the clouds cleared and he saw that it was still night, so he made his prayers even with one raka. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَتْ تَقُولُ مَنْ خَشِيَ أَنْ يَنَامَ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ فَلْيُوتِرْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَمَنْ رَجَا أَنْ يَسْتَيْقِظَ آخِرَ اللَّيْلِ فَلْيُؤَخِّرْ وِتْرَهُ ‏.‏
রেওয়ায়ত ১৮. মালিক (রহঃ) হইতে বর্ণিত- তাহার নিকট রেওয়ায়ত পৌছিয়াছে যে, নবী করীম সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর সহধর্মিণী আয়েশা (রাঃ) বলিয়াছেনঃ যাহার এই আশংকা থাকে যে, সে ভোর হওয়া পর্যন্ত ঘুমাইবে, তবে সে ঘুমের পূর্বেই বিতর পড়িয়া লইবে। আর যে ব্যক্তি শেষ রাত্রে জাগিবার ভরসা রাখে সে বিতর পরে (শেষ রাত্রে) পড়িবে।
Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to say, "If someone fears that he will sleep through till the morning, let him pray the witr before he sleeps, and if some one hopes to wake for the last part of the night, let him delay his witr

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ بَيْنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ وَالرَّكْعَةِ فِي الْوِتْرِ حَتَّى يَأْمُرَ بِبَعْضِ حَاجَتِهِ ‏.‏
রেওয়ায়ত ২০. নাফি (রহঃ) হইতে বর্ণিত, আবদুল্লাহ ইবন উমর (রাঃ) বিতর-এর এক রাকাআত এবং তৎপূর্বের দুই রাকাআতের মাঝখানে সালাম ফিরাইতেন। এমন কি তাহার প্রয়োজনীয় বিষয়ে নির্দেশও প্রদান করিতেন।

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ أَوَاجِبٌ هُوَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَوْتَرَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ‏.‏ فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يُرَدِّدُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَوْتَرَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ‏.‏
রেওয়ায়ত ১৭. মালিক (রহঃ) হইতে বর্ণিত, তাহার নিকট বর্ণনা পৌঁছিয়াছে যে, এক ব্যক্তি আবদুল্লাহ্ ইবন উমর (রাঃ)-কে বিতর (নামায) ওয়াজিব কিনা জিজ্ঞাসা করিলেন। (উত্তরে) তিনি বলিলেনঃ রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বিতর পড়িয়াছেন এবং মুসলিমগণও বিতর পড়িয়াছেন। বর্ণনাকারী বলেনঃ (প্রশ্নকারী) সেই ব্যক্তিটি বারবার তাহাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করিতেছিলেনঃ বিতর ওয়াজিব কি না? (উত্তরে) আবদুল্লাহ (রাঃ) বারবার ইহাই বলিয়াছেন।
