Surah Al-Muzzammil (“The Enshrouded One”) is the 73rd surah of the Quran: a Makkan surah of 20 ayahs.
Background
Among the very first surahs, preparing the Prophet ﷺ for the weight of revelation through night prayer. Its last ayah, easing the night prayer, came later.

The opening ayahs
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُزَّمِّلُ ١
O you who wraps himself [in clothing],
قُمِ ٱلَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا ٢
Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -
نِّصْفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا ٣
Half of it - or subtract from it a little

প্রেক্ষাপট
একেবারে প্রথম দিকের সূরাগুলোর একটি; রাতের নামাজের মাধ্যমে রাসূলুল্লাহ ﷺ-কে ওহির গুরুভার বহনে প্রস্তুত করা হয়েছে। রাতের নামাজ সহজ করার শেষ আয়াতটি পরে নাযিল হয়।
