Surah Al-Kahf (“The Cave”) is the 18th surah of the Quran: a Makkan surah of 110 ayahs.
Background
Revealed in Makkah when the Quraysh, on the advice of the rabbis of Madinah, tested the Prophet ﷺ with questions about the youths of the cave and Dhul-Qarnayn.

Virtue
Whoever memorises the first ten ayahs of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal (Muslim 809).
The opening ayahs
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَلَمْ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عِوَجَا ۜ ١
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance.
قَيِّمًۭا لِّيُنذِرَ بَأْسًۭا شَدِيدًۭا مِّن لَّدُنْهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا حَسَنًۭا ٢
[He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward
مَّٰكِثِينَ فِيهِ أَبَدًۭا ٣
In which they will remain forever

প্রেক্ষাপট
মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ, যখন কুরাইশরা মদিনার ইহুদি পণ্ডিতদের পরামর্শে গুহাবাসী যুবক ও যুলকারনাইন সম্পর্কে প্রশ্ন করে রাসূলুল্লাহ ﷺ-কে পরীক্ষা করেছিল।

ফজিলত
যে সূরা কাহফের প্রথম দশ আয়াত মুখস্থ করে, সে দাজ্জালের ফিতনা থেকে রক্ষা পাবে (মুসলিম ৮০৯)।
