মুহাম্মদ ইবন মানসূর (রহঃ) ... আমর (রহঃ) বলেন, আমি জাবির (রাঃ)-কে বলতে শুনেছিঃ রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম তিনশত ব্যক্তিকে আবু উবায়দা ইবন জাররাহ্ (রাঃ)-এর অধীনে কুরায়শের বাণিজ্যদলের গতিবিধি লক্ষ্য করার জন্য পাঠান। আমরা ঐ কাফেলার অপেক্ষায় সমুদ্র তীরে অবস্থান করি। আমরা এমন খাদ্য সংকটে পড়লাম যে, শেষ পর্যন্ত আমরা গাছের পাতা খেতে লাগলাম। এঅবস্থায় একদিন সমুদ্র একটি মাছ তীরে নিক্ষেপ করল যাকে আম্বর বলা হয়ে থাকে। আমরা তা অর্ধ মাস পর্যন্ত খেতে থাকি, আর এর চর্বি তেল হিসেবে ব্যবহার করি। এমনকি আমাদের হৃত স্বাস্থ্য ফিরে আসল। আবূ উবায়দা (রাঃ)-এর পাঁজরের একটি হাঁড় তুলে নেন। তিনি একটি লম্বা উটের প্রতি লক্ষ্য করেন, আর বাহিনীর সর্বাপেক্ষা লম্বা ব্যক্তিকে এর উপর সওয়ার করালেন। লোকটি এর নিচ দিয়ে চলে গেল। আবার বাহিনীর খাদ্যাভাব দেখা দিলে এক ব্যক্তি তিনটি উট যবেহ করল। আবার খাদ্যাভাব দেখা দিলে এক ব্যক্তি আরও তিনটি উট যবেহ করল। তারপর আবার খাদ্যাভাব দেখা দিলে আবারও এক ব্যক্তি তিনটি উট যবেহ করল। আবু উবায়দা (রাঃ) পরে তা নিষেধ করেন। (রাবী) সুফিয়ান (রহঃ) বলেন, আবু যুবায়র (রহঃ) জাবির (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণনা করেন যে, আমরা এ ব্যাপারে রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-এর নিকট জিজ্ঞাসা করলে, তিনি বলেনঃ তোমাদের নিকট কি এর অবশিষ্ট আছে? জাবির (রাঃ) বলেন, আমরা এর চক্ষুদ্বয় হতে এত-এত মটকা চর্বি বের করলাম। আর এর চক্ষের কোটরে চার ব্যক্তি নেমে পড়েছিল। আবু উবায়দা (রাঃ)-এর নিকট একটি খেজুর ভর্তি থলি ছিল। তিনি আমাদেরকে একা-এক মুষ্ঠি দান করতেন। পরে একটি করে খেজুর দিতেন, তা ফুরিয়ে যাওয়ার পর আমরা এর ফুরিয়ে যাওয়ার মূল্য বুঝতে পারি।
It was narrated that 'Amr said:"I heard Jabir say: 'The Messenger of Allah sent us, three hundred riders led by Abu 'Ubaidah bin al-Jarrah, to lie in wait for the caravan of the Quraish. We stayed on the coast and became very hungry, so much so that we ate Khabat. Then the sea cast ashore a beast called (Al-'Anbar), and we ate from it for half a month, and daubed our bodies with its fat, and our health was restored. Abu 'Ubaidah took one it its ribs and looked for the tallest camel and the tallest man in the army, and he passed beneath it. Then they got hungry again and a man slaughtered three camels, then they got hungry and a man slaughtered three camels, then they got hungry and a man slaughtered three camels, then they got hungry and a man slaughtered three camels. Then Abu 'Ubaidah told him not to do that." (One of the narrators) Sufyan said: "Abu Az-Zubair said, narrating from Jabir: "We asked the Prophet and he said: 'Do you have anything left of it?"' he said; "We took out, such-and -such an amount of a fat from its (the whale's) eyes, and four men could fit into its eye socket. Abu 'Ubaidah had a sack of dates and he used to give them out by the handful, then he started to give one date at a time, and when we ran out of dates it became very difficult for us
মুহাম্মদ ইবন আদম (রহঃ) ... জাবির ইবন আবদুল্লাহ (রাঃ) হতে বর্ণিত:
তিনি বলেন, আমাদের তিনশত ব্যক্তির একদলকে রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম জিহাদে পাঠান। আমরা আমাদের পাথেয় কাঁধে বয়ে নিচ্ছিলাম। এক সময় আমাদের পাথেয় নিঃশেষ হয়ে গেল। এমনকি আমাদের প্রত্যেকের একটি করে খেজুর মিলত। এক ব্যক্তি বললোঃ হে আবু আবদুল্লাহ্! একজন লোকের একটি খেজুরে কী হয়? জাবির (রাঃ) বললেনঃ তাও যখন ফুরিয়ে গেল, তখন আমরা বুঝলাম, একটি খেজুরের মূল্য কী? অতঃপর আমরা সমুদ্র তীরে আসলাম এবং সেখানে এমন এক মাছ পেলাম, সমুদ্র যা তীরে নিক্ষেপ করেছে। তা আমরা আঠার দিন পর্যন্ত খেয়েছিলাম।
It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdulah saida:"The Prophet sent us, a group of three hundred, and we carried our provision on our mounts. Our supplies ran our until each man of us had one date per day." It was said to him: "O Abu'Abdullah , what good is one date for a man?" he said: "When we ran out of dates it became very difficult for us. Then we found a whale that had been cast ashore by the sea. And we ate from it for eight days
أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ بَعَثَنَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَعَ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَنَفِدَ زَادُنَا فَمَرَرْنَا بِحُوتٍ قَدْ قَذَفَ بِهِ الْبَحْرُ فَأَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَأْكُلَ مِنْهُ فَنَهَانَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ ثُمَّ قَالَ نَحْنُ رُسُلُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كُلُوا . فَأَكَلْنَا مِنْهُ أَيَّامًا فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخْبَرْنَاهُ فَقَالَ " إِنْ كَانَ بَقِيَ مَعَكُمْ شَىْءٌ فَابْعَثُوا بِهِ إِلَيْنَا " .
যিয়াদ ইবন আইয়ুব (রহঃ) ... জাবির (রাঃ) হতে বর্ণিত:
তিনি বলেন, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম আবু উবায়দার নেতৃত্বে আমাদেরকে এক যুদ্ধে প্রেরণ করেন। আমাদের পাথেয় ফুরিয়ে যাওয়ার পর আমরা এমন একটি মাছ পেলাম যা সমুদ্র তীরে নিক্ষেপ করেছিল। আমরা তা থেকে খাওয়ার ইচ্ছা করলে আবু উবায়দা (রাঃ) নিষেধ করলেন। পরে তিনি বললেনঃ আমরা রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর প্রেরিত এবং আমরা আল্লাহর রাস্তায় রয়েছি, অতএব খাও। আমরা বেশ কিছু দিন তা থেকে খেয়েছিলাম। আমরা পরে রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর নিকট উপস্থিত হয়ে ঘটনা বর্ণনা করলাম। তিনি বললেনঃ যদি তোমাদের কাছে কিছু অবশিষ্ট থেকে থাকে, তবে তা আমাদের কাছে পাঠিয়ে দাও।
It was narrated that Jabir said:"The Prophet sent us with Abu 'Ubaidah on a campaign. Our supplies ran out. Then we passed by a whale that had been cast ashore by the sea. We wanted to eat from it, but Abu 'Ubaidah told us not to. Then he said: 'We are the envoys of the Messenger of Allah for the sake of Allah, so eat. So we ate from it for several days. When we came to the messenger of Allah we told him about that and he said: 'If you have anything left of it then send it to us
ইসহাক ইবন মানসূর (রহঃ) ... আবূ হুরায়রা (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত যে, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ সমুদ্রের পানি পাক, আর এর মৃত জীব হালাল।
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet (said), concerning the water of the sea:"Its water is pure (and Purification) and its 'dead meat' is permissible (to eat)
