। ইবরাহীম ইবনু ইয়াকুব (রহঃ) ... আব্দুর রহমান ইবনু যায়দ (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত যে, রমযান বা শা'বান মাসের সন্দেহযূক্ত দিনে লোকদের উদ্দেশ্য করে বললেনঃ শুন, আমি একবার রাসুলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর সাহাবীদের সাথে বসা ছিলাম। আমি তাদের প্রশ্ন করলে তাঁরা আমার কাছে বর্ণনা করলেন যে, রাসুলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ তোমরা চাঁদ দেখে সাওম (সিয়াম/রোজা/রোযা) পালন কর এবং চাঁদ দেখে সাওম (সিয়াম/রোজা/রোযা) ভঙ্গ কর আর চাঁদ দেখেই কুরবানী কর। তবে হ্যাঁ, (শা'বান মাসের ২৯ তারিখে) যদি আকাশে মেঘাচ্ছন্ন থাকে তবে তোমরা মাসের ৩০ দিন পূর্ন করে নেবে। তবে দু'জন সাক্ষী সাক্ষ্য দিলে তোমরা সাওম পালন করবে এবং ভঙ্গ করবে।
It was narrated that:'Abdur-Rahman bin Zaid bin Al-Khattab addressed the people on the day concerning which there was doubt (as to whether the month had begun) and said: "I sat with the Companions of the Messenger of Allah and asked them, and they a narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: 'Fast when you see it and stop fasting when you see it, and perform the rites on that basis. If it is obscured, then complete thirty days, and if two witnesses testify then fast and stop fasting
। মুসা ইবনু আব্দুর রহমান (রহঃ) ... ইবনু আব্বাস (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-এর কাছে একজন বেদুঈন এসে বললেন যে, আমি রাত্রে চাঁদ দেখেছি, তখন রাসুলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বললেন যে, তুমি কি সাক্ষ্য দেও যে, আল্লাহ তা'আলা ছাড়া অন্য কোন মাবুদ নেই এবং মুহাম্মাদ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম আল্লাহর বান্দা এবং রাসুল? সে বললো, হ্যাঁ। তখন তিনি বললেনঃ হে বেলাল! তুমি লোকদের সামনে ঘোযণা করে দাও যে তারা যেন সাওম (সিয়াম/রোজা/রোযা) পালন করে।
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said:"A Bedouin come to the Prophet and said; 'I have sighted the crescent tonight.' He said: 'Do you bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Messenger?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'O Bilal, announce to the people that they should fast tomorrow
