তিনি বলেন, এক সময়ে রসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম আমাকে কোন একটি কাজে পাঠালেন। আমি ফিরে এসে দেখলাম সওয়ারীতে আরোহণ করে (নফল সালাত আদায়রত) অতিক্রম করেছেন। কুতায়বাহ বর্ণনা করেছেন যে, তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) সালাত আদায় করছিলেন। জাবির ইবনু আবদুল্লাহ বলেনঃ আমি (ফিরে আসার পর ঐ অবস্থায়) তাকে সালাম দিলে তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) আমাকে ইশারা করলেন (ইশারা দ্বারা সালামের জবাব দিলেন)। সালাত শেষ করে তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) আমাকে ডেকে বললেনঃ তুমি এইমাত্র আমাকে সালাম দিয়েছ। তখন আমি সালাত আদায় করছিলাম। ঐ সময় তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) পূর্ব দিকে মুখ করে ছিলেন। (ইসলামী ফাউন্ডেশন ১০৮৬, ইসলামীক সেন্টার)
Jabir reported:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent me on an errand. I (having done the business assigned to me came back and) joined him as he was going (on a ride). Qutaiba said that he was saying prayer while he rode. I greeted him. He gestured to me. When he completed the prayer. he called me and said: You greeted me just now while I was engaged in prayer. (Qutaiba said): His (Prophet's face) was towards the east, as he was praying
তিনি বলেন, বানী মুস্তালিক গোত্রের দিকে যাওয়ার সময় রসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম আমাকে একটি কাজে পাঠালেন। আমি ফিরে এসে দেখলাম তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) উটের পিঠে বসে সালাত আদায় করছেন। আমি তাকে বললাম (অর্থাৎ- যে কাজে পাঠিয়েছিলেন সে সম্পর্কে) কিন্তু তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) আমাকে হাত দ্বারা এভাবে ইশারা করলেন। বর্ণনাকারী যুহায়র ইবনু হারব তার হাত দিয়ে ইশারা করে তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) কিভাবে ইশারা করেছিলেন তা দেখালেন। জাবির ইবনু আবদুল্লাহ বলেনঃ আমি তখন শুনছিলাম রসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম কিছু পড়ছেন এবং মাথা দ্বারা ইশারা করছেন। সালাত শেষ হলে তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) আমাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেনঃ আমি তোমাকে যে জন্য পাঠিয়েছিলাম তার কি করেছ? আমি শুধু এ কারণে তোমার সাথে কথা বলিনি যে, আমি তখন সালাত আদায় করছিলাম। হাদীসটির বর্ণনাকারী যুহারর ইবনু হারব (রহঃ) বলেনঃ কথাগুলো বলার সময় আবূ যুবায়র কা'বার দিকে মুখ করে বসে ছিলেন। কিন্তু যখন তিনি (আবুয যুবায়র) হাত দিয়ে ইশারা করে দেখাচ্ছিলেন তখন কা'বার দিকে মুখ না করে বানী মুস্তালিকের দিকে মুখ করে বলছিলেন। (ইসলামী ফাউন্ডেশন ১০৮৭, ইসলামীক সেন্টার)
Jabir reported:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent me (on an errand) while he was going to Banu Mustaliq. I came to him and he was engaged in prayer on the back of his camel. I talked to him and he gestured to me With his hand, and Zuhair gestured with his hand. I then again talked and he again (gestured to me with his hand). Zuhair pointed with his hand towards the ground. I heard him (the Holy Prophet) reciting the Qur'an and making a sign with his head. When he com- pleted the prayer he sa'id: What have you done (with regard to that business) for which I sent you? I could not talk with you but for the fact that I was engaged in prayer. Zuhair told that Abu Zubair was sitting with his face turned towards Qibla (as he transmitted this hadith). Abu Zuhair pointed towards Banu Mustaliq with his hand and the direction to which he pointed with his hand was not towards the Ka'ba
তিনি বলেন, আমরা সালাতরত অবস্থায় কথা বলতাম। লোকে সালাতরত অবস্থায় তার পাশে (সালাতে) দাঁড়ানো অপর ব্যক্তির সাথে কথা বলত। এরপর আয়াত অবতীর্ণ হলোঃوَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ "আর তোমরা আল্লাহর প্রতি পূর্ণ অনুগত ও একনিষ্ঠ হয়ে দাড়াও" (সূরাহ আল বাকারাহ ২ঃ ২৩৮)। এ হুকুম অবতীর্ণ হওয়ার পর আমাদেরকে সালাতের মধ্যে চুপ থাকতে আদেশ দেয়া হলো এবং কথা বলতে নিষেধ করা হলো। (ইসলামী ফাউন্ডেশন ১০৮৪, ইসলামীক সেন্টার)
Zaid b. Arqam reported:We used to talk while engaged in prayer and a person talked with a companion on his side in prayer till (this verse) was revealed:" And stand before Allah in devout obedience" (ii, 238) and we were commanded to observe silence (in prayer) and were forbidden to speak
