আবূ হুরাইরাহ্ (রাযি.) হতে বর্ণিত যে, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেনঃ অনুসরণ করার জন্যই ইমাম নির্ধারণ করা হয়। কাজেই তার বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করবে না। তিনি যখন রুকূ‘ করেন তখন তোমরাও রুকু‘ করবে। তিনি যখন سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ বলেন, তখন তোমরা رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ বলবে। তিনি যখন সিজদা্ করবেন তখন তোমরাও সিজদা্ করবে। তিনি যখন বসে সালাত আদায় করেন, তখন তোমরাও সবাই বসে সালাত আদায় করবে। আর তোমরা সালাতে কাতার সোজা করে নিবে, কেননা কাতার সোজা করা সালাতের সৌন্দর্যের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। (৭৩৪; মুসলিম ৪/১৯, হাঃ ৪১৪) (আধুনিক প্রকাশনীঃ ৬৭৮, ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ)
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The Imam is (appointed) to be followed. So do not differ from him, bow when he bows, and say, "Rabbana-lakal hamd" if he says "Sami`a l-lahu liman hamidah"; and if he prostrates, prostrate (after him), and if he prays sitting, pray sitting all together, and straighten the rows for the prayer, as the straightening of the rows is amongst those things which make your prayer a correct and perfect one. একবার তিনি (আনাস) মদিনা্য় আসলেন। তাঁকে জিজ্ঞেস করা হলো, আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম -এর যুগের তুলনায় আপনি আমাদের সময়ের অপছন্দনীয় কী দেখতে পাচ্ছেন? তিনি বললেন, অন্য কোন কাজ তেমন অপছন্দনীয় মনে হচ্ছে না। তবে তোমরা (সালাতে) কাতার ঠিকমত সোজা কর না। ‘উক্বাহ ইবনু ‘উবাইদ (রহ.) বুশাইর ইবনু ইয়াসার (রহ.) হতে বর্ণনা করেন যে, আনাস ইবনু মালিক (রাযি.) আমাদের নিকট মদিনা্য় এলেন......বাকী অংশ অনুরূপ। (আধুনিক প্রকাশনীঃ ৬৮০, ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ)
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
I arrived at Medina and was asked whether I found any change since the days of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). I said, "I have not found any change except that you do not stand in alignment in your prayers
যদি লোকেরা জানত যে, আওয়াল ওয়াক্তে সালাত আদায়ের কী ফাযীলাত, তাহলে তারা এর জন্য প্রতিযোগিতা করে আগেভাগে আসার চেষ্টা করতো। আর ‘ইশা ও ফজরের জামা‘আতের কী ফাযীলাত যদি তারা জানত তাহলে হামাগুড়ি দিয়ে হলেও তাতে উপস্থিত হতো। এবং সামনের কাতারের কী ফাযীলাত তা যদি জানত, তাহলে এর জন্য তারা কুরআ ব্যবহার করতো। (৬১৫) (আধুনিক প্রকাশনীঃ ৬৭৭ শেষাংশ, ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ৬৮৫ শেষাংশ)
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Martyrs are those who die because of drowning, plague, an Abdominal disease, or of being buried alive by a falling building." And then he added, "If the people knew the Reward for the Zuhr prayer in its early time, they would race for it. If they knew the reward for the `Isha' and the Fajr prayers in congregation, they would join them even if they had to crawl. If they knew the reward for the first row, they would draw lots for it
