Anas said:The Companions of the prophet (ﷺ) said to the prophet (ﷺ): The people of the Book salute us. How should we reply to them? He said: say : the same to you
। আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনু উমার (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ ইয়াহুদীদের কেউ তোমাদের সালাম দেয়ার সময় বলে যে, ‘‘আসসামু আলাইকুম’’ (অর্থঃ তোমাদের মৃত্যু হোক)। জবাবে তোমরা বলবেঃ ওয়া আলাইকুম (অর্থঃ তোমাদের উপরও তাই)। ইমাম আবূ দাঊদ (রহঃ) বলেন, ইমাম মালিক (রহঃ) আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনু দীনার সূত্রে অনুরূপ বর্ণনা করেছেন। সুফিয়ান সাওরী আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনু দীনার সূত্রে বর্ণনা করেছেন। তাতে তিনি (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) বলেনঃ (জবাবে তোমরা বলবেঃ ওয়া আলাইকুম)।[1] সহীহ।
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When one of the Jews greets you saying: Death may come upon you, reply: The same to you. Abu Dawud said: Malik b. 'Adb Allah b. Dinar transmitted it in a similar manner, and al-Thawri transmitted it from 'Abd Allah b. Dinar. He said in this version: The same to you
। আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ তোমাদের কেউ মাজলিসে উপস্থিত হলে যেন সালাম দেয় এবং মাজলিস থেকে বিদায়ের সময়ও যেন সালাম দেয়। প্রথম সালাম শেষ সালামের চেয়ে বেশী জরূরী নয়।[1] হাসান সহীহ।
Narrated AbuHurayrah:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When one of you comes to an assembly, he should give a salutation and if he feels inclined to get up, he should give a salutation, for the former is not more of a duty than the latter
। সুহাইল ইবনু আবূ সালিহ (রহঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, আমি আমার পিতার সঙ্গে সিরিয়ার উদ্দেশ্যে রওয়ানা হলাম। তারা গির্জাসমূহের পাশ দিয়ে অতিক্রমকালে তাতে অবস্থানরত খৃষ্টানদের সালাম দিলেন। আমার পিতা বললেন, তোমরা আগে তাদেরকে সালাম দিও না। আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাঃ) আমাদের নিকট বর্ণনা করেছেন যে, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ তোমরা আগে তাদেরকে (আহলে কিতাবদেরকে) সালাম দিবে না। রাস্তায় তাদের সঙ্গে তোমাদের সাক্ষাৎ হলে তাদের রাস্তার সংকীর্ণ দিকে চলে যেতে বাধ্য করবে।[1] সহীহ।
Narrated AbuHurayrah:
Suhayl ibn AbuSalih said: I went out with my father to Syria. The people passed by the cloisters in which there were Christians and began to salute them. My father said: Do not give them salutation first, for AbuHurayrah reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: Do not salute them (Jews and Christians) first, and when you meet them on the road, force them to go to the narrowest part of it
