সুওয়ায়দ (রহঃ) ... আসওয়াদ ইবন শায়বান সাদুসী (রহঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত যে, এক ব্যক্তি আতা (রহঃ) এর নিকট জিজ্ঞাসা করলোঃ আমরা বিভিন্ন সফরে যাই। তখন বাজারে নানা রকম পানীয় দেখি; কিন্তু ঐ পানীয় কোন পাত্রে বানানো হয়েছে, তা জানি না। আতা (রহঃ) বললেনঃ প্রত্যেক নেশাকরবস্তু হারাম। ঐ ব্যক্তি তার প্রশ্নের পুনরাবৃত্তি করল। তিনি বললেন, প্রত্যেক নেশাকর বস্তু হারাম। লোকটি আবারও সেই প্রশ্ন করল। তিনি বললেনঃ আমি তোমাকে যা বলেছি, তা-ই ঠিক।
Al-Aswad bin Shaiban As-Sadusi said:"I heard 'Ata' being asked by a man: 'We travel and drinks are offered to us in the marketplaces, and we do not know what kind of vessels they were prepared in.' সুওয়ায়দ (রহঃ) ... আবদুল মালিক ইবন তুফায়ল জাযারী (রহঃ) বলেন, উমর ইবন আবদুল আযীয (রহঃ) আমাদের নিকট ফরমান পাঠান যে, তোমরা জ্বালানো দ্রাক্ষারস পান করবে না, যতক্ষণ না তার দুই-তৃতীয়াংশ চলে যায় এবং এক-তৃতীয়াংশ অবশিষ্ট থাকে। আর প্রত্যেক মাদকদ্রব্যই হারাম।
It was narrated that 'Abdul-Malik bin At-Tufail Al-Jazari said:"Umar bin 'Abdul-Aziz wrote to us, saying: 'Do not drink the thickened juice of grapes (obtained by boiling it down) until two-third of it has gone and one-third is left. And every intoxicant is unlawful
