মুহাম্মদ ইবন 'আলা (রহঃ) ... ফারি'আ বিনত মালিক (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত যে, তার স্বামী স্বীয় গোলামের তালাশে বের হলে, তারা তাকে হত্যা করলো। শু'বা এবং ইবন জুরাইজ (রহঃ) বলেনঃ সেই মহিলার ঘর ছিল জনবসতি হতে দূরে। পরে সেই মহিলা তার ভাইকে সাথে নিয়ে রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর নিকট উপস্থিত হয়ে নিজের অবস্থা বর্ণনা করলেন, তিনি তাকে অন্য ঘরে বাস করার অনুমতি দিলেন। যখন সে প্রত্যাবর্তন করছিল, তিনি তাকে ডেকে বললেনঃ তুমি নিজের ঘরেই থাকে, যতক্ষণ না ইদ্দত পূর্ণ হয়।
It was narrated from Al-Fari'ah bint Malik that her husband went out to pursue some slaves and they killed him. Shu'bah and Ibn Juraij said:"She was in a remote house. She came with her brothers to the Messenger of Allah and told him (about the situation) and he granted her a concession. When she was leaving he called her back and said: 'Stay in your house until the term prescribed is fulfilled
ইসহাক ইবন মানসূর (রহঃ) ... উম্মে হাবীবা (রাঃ) বলেনঃ আমি রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-কে এই মিম্বরে বলতে শুনেছিঃ যে মহিলা আল্লাহ্ ও তাঁর রাসূলের উপর ঈমান রাখে, তার জন্য কোন মৃত্যুর উদ্দেশে তিন দিনের অধিক শোক করা বৈধ নয়। কিন্তু সে তার স্বামীর জন্য চার মাস দশ দিন শোক পালন করবে।
It was narrated from Zainab bint Abi Salamah that Umm Habibah said:"I heard the Messenger of Allah say this on this Minbar: 'It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and His Messenger to mourn for anyone who dies for more than three days, except for a husband, (for whom the mourning period is) four months and ten days
কুতায়বা (রহঃ) ... ফারি'আ বিনত মালিক (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত যে, আমার স্বামী আজমী গোলামাদেরকে চাকর রাখতেন তার কাজের জন্য। তারা তাকে হত্যা করলে তিনি এই সংবাদ রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর নিকট পৌছিয়ে বললেন, আমার স্বামীর কোন ঘরও নেই এবং তিনি খোরপোষের কোন ব্যবস্থাও করে যাননি। আমি আমার পরিবারস্থ লোকের নিকট গিয়ে আমার ইয়াতিম সন্তানদের রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করতে পারি? তিনি তাকে বললেনঃ তুমি এরূপ করতে পার। এরপর তিনি বললেনঃ কী বলেছিলে? তখন সে যা বলেছিল, তা আবার বললো। তিনি বললেনঃ ইদ্দত ঐ স্থানেই পালন কর, যেখানে তুমি তোমার স্বামীর মৃত্যু সংবাদ শুনেছ।
It was narrated from Al-Furai'ah bint Malik that her husband hired some slaves to work for him and they killed him. She mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah and said:"I am not living in a house that belongs to him, and I do not receive maintenance from him; should I move to my family with my two orphans and stay with them?" He said: "Do that." Then he said: "What did you say?" So she told him again and he said: "Observe your 'Iddah where the news came to you
মুহাম্মদ ইবন মা’মার (রহঃ) ... আয়েশা (রাঃ) হতে বর্ণিত:
তিনি বলেনঃ রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ যে মহিলা আল্লাহ ও পরকালে ঈমান রাখে, তার জন্য তিন দিনের অধিক শোক করা বৈধ হবে না- নিজের স্বামী ব্যতীত।
It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet said:"It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for more than three days, except for her husband
