রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ পাঁচটি কাজ ফিতরাহ বা (সুষ্ঠু স্বভাব) খাতন করা, নাভীর নিচের লোম পরিষ্কার করে ফেলা, গোফ ছাটা, নখ কাটা এবং বগলের লোম উপড়িয়ে ফেলা। (ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ৪৮৯, ইসলামিক সেন্টারঃ)

আবূ বাকর ইবনু আবূ শাইবাহ, আমর আন নাকিদ ও যুহায়র ইবনু হারব (রহঃ) ..... আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাযিঃ) হতে বর্ণিত:
নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ ফিতরাহ্ (স্বভাব) পাঁচটি অথবা বলেছেন, পাঁচটি কাজ হলো ফিতরাহ এর অন্তর্ভুক্ত- খাতনা করা, ক্ষুর দ্বারা নাভীর নিচের লোম পরিষ্কার করা, নখ কাটা, বগলের লোম উপড়িয়ে ফেলা এবং গোফ কাটা। (ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ৪৮৮, ইসলামিক সেন্টারঃ)

গোফ ছাটা, নখ কাটা, বগলের লোম উপড়িয়ে ফেলা এবং নাভীর নীচের লোম ছেচে ফেলার জন্যে আমাদেরকে সময়সীমা নির্দিষ্ট করে দেয়া হয়েছিল যেন আমরা তা চল্লিশ দিনের অধিক দেরি না করি। (ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ৪৯০, ইসলামিক সেন্টারঃ)
Anas reported:A time limit has been prescribed for us for clipping the moustache, cutting the nails, plucking hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes, that it should not be neglected far more than forty nights
আবদ ইবনু হুমায়দ (রহঃ) ..... ইবনু আব্বাস (রাযিঃ) হতে বর্ণিত:
একদা তিনি আল্লাহর নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর কাছে রাত কাটালেন। (তিনি দেখলেন) আল্লাহর নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম শেষ রাতে ঘুম থেকে উঠলেন এবং বাইরে গিয়ে আকাশের দিকে তাকালেন এর পরে সূরাহ্ আ-লি ইমরানের এ আয়াতটি তিলাওয়াত করলেন "আকাশ ও পৃথিবীর সৃষ্টি এবং রাত ও দিনের আবর্তনে জ্ঞানীদের জন্যে বহু নিদর্শন রয়েছে ..... অতএব আপনি অনুগ্রহ করে আমাদেরকে আগুনের শাস্তি থেকে রক্ষা করুন" পর্যন্ত পড়লেন– (সূরাহ্ আ-লি “ইমরান ৩ঃ ১৯০-১৯১)। অতঃপর ঘরে ফিরে এসে মিসওয়াক ও ওযু করলেন। এরপর দাঁড়িয়ে সালাত আদায় করলেন। সালাত শেষে শুয়ে পড়লেন। পুনরায় কিছুক্ষণ পরে উঠে বাইরে গেলেন এবং আকাশের দিকে তাকিয়ে উক্ত আয়াতটি পাঠ করলেন। অতঃপর ফিরে এসে (আবার) মিসওয়াক করে ওযু করলেন; অতঃপর ফজরের সালাত আদায় করলেন। (ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ৪৮৭, ইসলামিক সেন্টারঃ)
Ibn 'Abbas reported that he spent a night at the house of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), The Apostle of Allah (way peace be upon him) got up for prayer in the latter part of the night. He went out and looked towards the sky and then recited this verse (190th) of AI-i-'Imran:" Verily in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day." up to the (words)" save us from the torment of Hell." He then returned to his house, used the tooth-stick, performed the ablution, and then got up and offered the prayer. He than lay down on the bed. and again got up and went out and looked towards the sky and recited this verse (mentioned above), then returned, used the tooth-stick, performed ablution and again offered the prayer
