Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Said ihn al-Musayyab that Umar ibn al Khattab and Uthman ibn Affan, may Allah be pleased with them, used to do the same
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى .
রেওয়ায়ত ৮৭. আব্বাদ ইবন তামীম (রহঃ) তাহার চাচা হইতে বর্ণনা করেন যে, তিনি রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-কে মসজিদে চিৎ হইয়া শায়িত দেখিয়াছিলেন। তখন রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এক পা অপর পায়ের উপর রাখিয়াছিলেন। সাঈদ ইবন মুসায়্যাব (রহঃ) বলেনঃ উমর ইবন খাত্তাব ও উসমান ইবন আফফান (রাঃ) উভয়ে অনুরূপ করিতেন।
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abbad ibn Tamim from his paternal uncle that he saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, lying down in the mosque with one foot on top of the other
রেওয়ায়ত ৮৮. ইয়াহইয়া ইবন সাঈদ (রহঃ) বর্ণনা করেন যে, আবদুল্লাহ্ ইবন মাসউদ (রাঃ) জনৈক ব্যক্তিকে সম্বোধন করিয়া বলিয়াছেনঃ তুমি এমন এক যুগে বাস করিতেছ, যে যুগে ধর্মীয় বিষয়ে বিজ্ঞ অনেক আলিম রহিয়াছেন, কারী আছেন কম (অর্থাৎ আমল ও জ্ঞান ছাড়া কেবল কুরআন পাঠকারীদের সংখ্যা অতি অল্প)। এই যুগে কুরআনের আদেশ নিষেধ প্রভৃতি হিফাযত করা হয়, শব্দের দিকে মনোযোগ দেওয়া হয় কম, ভিক্ষুকের সংখ্যা কম, দাতার সংখ্যা বেশি, নামায পড়েন দীর্ঘ আর খুতবা পাঠ করেন ছোট। সে যুগে প্রবৃত্তি বা খাহেশাতের তাবেদারীর পূর্বে তাহারা আমল আরম্ভ করিয়া দেন। অদূর ভবিষ্যতে মানুষের উপর এমন এক যুগ আসিবে, সে যুগে ফুকাহা (বিজ্ঞ) উলামা হইবেন অল্প। কারিগণ হইবেন অনেক, কুরআনের শব্দসমূহের হিফাযত করা হইবে, অপরদিকে আহকামে কুরআনকে বরবাদ করা হইবে (আমলের প্রতি নযর দিবে কম)। سائل বা ভিক্ষুক হইবে অনেক, দাতার সংখ্যা হইবে অল্প। খুতবা লম্বা প্রদান করিবে আর নামায পড়িবে মুখতাসার, আমলের নয়, খাহেশাত বা প্রবৃত্তির অনুসরণ করা হইবে।
Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that Abdullah ibn Masud said to a certain man, "You are in a time when men of understanding (fuqaha) are many and Qur'an reciters are few, when the limits of behaviour defined in the Qur'an are guarded and its letters are lost, when few people ask and many give, when they make the prayer long and the khutba short, and put their actions before their desires. A time will come upon men when their fuqaha are few but their Qur'an reciters are many, when the letters of the Qur'an are guarded carefully but its limits are lost, when many ask but few give, when they make the khutba long but the prayer short, and put their desires before their actions
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ عِتْبَانَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، كَانَ يَؤُمُّ قَوْمَهُ وَهُوَ أَعْمَى وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِنَّهَا تَكُونُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَالْمَطَرُ وَالسَّيْلُ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ فَصَلِّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أَتَّخِذْهُ مُصَلًّى . فَجَاءَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ " . فَأَشَارَ لَهُ إِلَى مَكَانٍ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم .
রেওয়ায়ত ৮৬. মাহমুদ ইবন লবীদ আনসারী (রহঃ) বলেনঃ উতবান ইবন মালিক (রাঃ) আপন সম্প্রদায়ের লোকদের ইমামতি করিতেন, তিনি ছিলেন অন্ধ। তিনি রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর নিকট আরজ করিলেনঃ আমাকে অনেক সময় অন্ধকার, বৃষ্টি ও স্রোতের সম্মুখীন হইতে হয়, আর আমি হইলাম দুর্বল দৃষ্টিশক্তিসম্পন্ন লোক, তাই হে আল্লাহর রাসূল! আপনি আমার গৃহের কোন স্থানে নামায পড়ুন, আমি উহাকে নামাযের স্থান নির্ধারণ করিব। তাহার আবেদন রক্ষার্থে রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম তাহার গৃহে পদার্পণ করিলেন এবং জিজ্ঞাসা করিলেন, কোন স্থানে নামায পড়া তুমি পছন্দ কর। তিনি ইশারায় রাসূলুল্লাহ্ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-কে একটি নির্দিষ্ট স্থান তাহার গৃহ হইতে দেখাইলেন। অতঃপর রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম সেই স্থানে নামায পড়িলেন।
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Mahmud ibn Rabi al-Ansari that Utban ibn Malik, who was a blind man, used to lead his people in prayer, and he said to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "Sometimes it is dark and rainy and there is a lot of water around outside, and I am a man who has lost his sight. Messenger of Allah, pray in a certain place in my house so that I can take it as a place to pray." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to him and said, "Where would you like me to pray?" He indicated a place to him and the Messengerof Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed there
