Hadith 792
وَعَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: { أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-أَنْ نَصُومَ مِنْ اَلشَّهْرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ: ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ, وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ } رَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ, وَاَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ حِبَّانَ 1‏ .‏‏1 ‏- حسن.‏ رواه النسائي ( 4 / 222 )‏، والترمذي ( 761 )‏، وابن حبان ( 3647 و 3648 )‏، وقال الترمذي: " هذا حديث حسن ".‏
Abu Dharr (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded us to fast for three days of every month; that is on the days of the full moon; the 13th , 14th , and 15th (of the lunar month).’ Related by An-Nasa’i and At-Tirmidhi and rendered authentic by Ibn Hibban.

Hadith 791
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: { كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ, وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ, وَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-اِسْتَكْمَلَ صِيَامَ شَهْرٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ, وَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ فِي شَهْرٍ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُ صِيَامًا فِي شَعْبَانَ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُسْلِمٍ 1‏ .‏‏1 ‏- صحيح.‏ رواه البخاري ( 1969 )‏، ومسلم ( 1156 )‏ ( 175 )‏.‏
'A’isha (RAA) narrated, ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to fast until one would say, he never breaks his fast (i.e. he never stops fasting), and he would abandon fasting (at other times) until one would say that he never fasts. And I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) fast for a complete month except for the month of Ramadan, and I never saw him fast in a month more than he did in the month of Sha’ban.” Agreed upon and the wording is from Muslim.

Hadith 793
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-قَالَ: { لَا يَحِلُّ لِلْمَرْأَةِ أَنْ تَصُومَ وَزَوْجُهَا شَاهِدٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ, وَاللَّفْظُ لِلْبُخَارِيِّ 1‏ .‏
وَزَادَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ: { غَيْرَ رَمَضَانَ } 2‏ .‏‏1 ‏- صحيح.‏ رواه البخاري ( 5195 )‏، ومسلم ( 1026 )‏، وزاد البخاري: " ولا تأذن في بيته إلا بإذنه، وما أنفقت من نفقة عن غير أمره، فإنه يؤدى إليه شطره ".‏ ومثله لمسلم إلا أنه قال: " … من كسبه من غير أمره فإن نصف أجره له ".‏
‏2 ‏- السنن ( 2458 )‏ وإسنادها صحيح.‏
Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah said, "A woman is not to fast (even) for one day while her husband is present except with his permission" Agreed upon and the wording is from Al-Bukhari. Abu Dawud’s version states, “unless it is during Ramadan (then she does not need his permission as it is obligatory fasting).’’

Hadith 790
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ اَلْخُدْرِيِّ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-{ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اَللَّهِ إِلَّا بَاعَدَ اَللَّهُ بِذَلِكَ اَلْيَوْمِ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ 1‏ اَلنَّارَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ, وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُسْلِمٍ 2‏ .‏‏1 ‏- في مسلم وأيضا البخاري: " وجهه عنه ".‏‏2 ‏- صحيح.‏ رواه البخاري ( 2840 )‏، ومسلم ( 1153 )‏.‏

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“No servant (of Allah) fasts on a day (merely) for the sake of Allah except that Allah pushes the Hellfire seventy years further away from his face, due to fasting on this day.” Agreed upon and the wording is from Muslim.
