وَلِأَبِي دَاوُدَ : { ثُمَّ اِقْرَأْ بِأُمِّ اَلْقُرْآنِ وَبِمَا شَاءَ اَللَّهُ } 11 - صحيح . رواه أبو داود (8529) .
And Abu Dawud has "Then read the Ummul-Qur'an (i.e. Surah al-Fatiha) and what ever Allah wishes".

وَفِيهَا 1 { فَإِنْ كَانَ مَعَكَ قُرْآنٌ فَاقْرَأْ وَإِلَّا فَاحْمَدِ اَللَّهَ , وَكَبِّرْهُ , وهلِّلْهُ } 21 - أي : في رواية .2 - صحيح . رواه أبو داود (861) .
Narrated It is also mentionmed in the same Hadith, "If you know any portion of the Qur'an, read it or else say:
Alhamdu lillah, Allahu Akbar and La ilaha ill-Allah."
وَلِابْنِ حِبَّانَ : { ثُمَّ بِمَا شِئْتَ } 11 - صحيح . رواه ابن حبان (1787) .
Narrated Ibn Hibban also has:
"and then (read) whatever you wish."
وَلِلنَّسَائِيِّ , وَأَبِي دَاوُدَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ : { إِنَّهَا لَنْ 1 تَتِمُّ صَلَاةُ أَحَدِكُمْ حَتَّى يُسْبِغَ اَلْوُضُوءَ كَمَا أَمَرَهُ اَللَّهُ , ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرَ اَللَّهَ , وَيَحْمَدَهُ , وَيُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهِ } . 21 - كذا بالأصل ، وفي النسائي : "لم" ، وفي أبي داود : "لا" .2 - صحيح . رواه أبو داود (858) ، والنسائي (2/226) .
Narrated And in the narration of an-Nasa'i and Abu Dawud from the Hadith of Rifa'a bin Rafi':
"The Salat (prayer) of one of you will not be complete until he performs Wudu' (ablution) properly as Allah commanded him, then he says Allahu Akbar and Alhamdu lillah and praises Him."
