। আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। একদা রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-কে প্রশ্ন করা হলো, গীবত কী? তিনি বললেন, তোমার ভাইয়ের ব্যাপারে তোমার এমন কিছু বলা যা শুনলে সে অসন্তুষ্ট হয়। পুনরায় প্রশ্ন করা হলো, আমি যা বলি তা যদি আমার ভাইয়ের মধ্যে বর্তমান থাকে? তিনি বললেন, তুমি যা বলো তা যদি তার মধ্যে থাকে তাহলেই তুমি তার গীবত করলে। আর তুমি যা বলো তা যদি তার মধ্যে না থাকে তবে তুমি তাকে মিথ্যা অপবাদ দিলে।[1] সহীহ।
Abu Hurairah said:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked: Messenger of Allah! What is back-biting? He replied: It is saying something about your brother which he would dislike. He was asked again: Tell me how the matter stands if what I say about my brother is true? He replied: If what you say of him is true, you have slandered him, and if what you say of him is not true, you have reviled him
। আয়িশাহ (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, আমি নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-কে বললাম, সাফিয়্যাহ (রাঃ)-এর ব্যাপারে আপনার জন্য এতটুকুই যে, সে এরূপ অর্থাৎ তিনি খাটো। তিনি বললেনঃ তুমি এমন একটি কথা বলেছ, যা সমুদ্রে মিশিয়ে দিলে তাতে সমুদ্রের পানি রং পাল্টে যাবে। আয়িশাহ (রাঃ) বলেন, আমি এক ব্যক্তিকে অঙ্গভঙ্গির মাধ্যমে নকল করলাম। তিনি বললেনঃ আমাকে এতো এতো সম্পদ দেয়া হলেও আমি কারো অনুকরণ পছন্দ করবো না।[1] সহীহ।
Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin:
I said to the Prophet (ﷺ): It is enough for you in Safiyyah that she is such and such (the other version than Musaddad's has:) meaning that she was short-statured. He replied; You have said a word which would change the sea if it were mixed in it. She said: I imitated a man before him (out of disgrace). He said: I do not like that I imitate anyone even if I should get such and such
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مِنْ شَرِّ النَّاسِ ذُو الْوَجْهَيْنِ الَّذِي يَأْتِي هَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ وَهَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ " .
। আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ সবচেয়ে নিকৃষ্ট মানুষ হলো দ্বিমুখী চরিত্রের লোক। তারা এক দলের নিকট এক চেহারা নিয়ে এবং অপর দলের নিকট অন্য চেহারা নিয়ে আত্মপ্রকাশ করে।[1] সহীহ।
Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet (May peace be upon him) as saying:The worst of the people is a man who is double-faced; he presents one face to some and another to others
