। ‘উমার ইবনুল খাত্তাব (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। একদা রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম ‘উমার (রাঃ)-কে একটি কাফেলার সাথে পেলেন। তখন তিনি তার পিতার নামে শপথ করলে রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বললেনঃ নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে তোমাদের বাপ-দাদার নামে শপথ করতে নিষেধ করেছেন। কারো শপথ করার প্রয়োজন হলে সে যেন আল্লাহর নামে শপথ করে, অন্যথায় চুপ থাকে।
Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) found 'Umar al-Khattab in a caravan while he was swearing by his father. So he said: Allah forbids you to swear by forefathers. If anyone swears, he must swear by Allah or keep silence
। আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ তোমরা নিজেদের পিতা-মাতা কিংবা দেবদেবীর নামে শপথ করবে না। তোমরা শুধুমাত্র আল্লাহর নামে শপথ করবে। আর তোমরা আল্লাহর নামে কেবল সে বিষয়েই শপথ করবে যে বিষয়ে তোমরা সত্যবাদী।
Narrated AbuHurayrah:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not swear by your fathers, or by your mothers, or by rivals to Allah; and swear by Allah only, and swear by Allah only when you are speaking the truth
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ سَمِعَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَحْوَ مَعْنَاهُ إِلَى " بِآبَائِكُمْ " . زَادَ قَالَ عُمَرُ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا حَلَفْتُ بِهَذَا ذَاكِرًا وَلاَ آثِرًا .
। ‘উমার (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম আমাকে পিতার নামে কসম করতে শুনলেনঃ ‘বাপ-দাদার নামে কসম খেও না, এ পর্যন্ত উপরের হাদীসের অনুরূপ। এ বর্ণনায় আরো রয়েছেঃ ‘উমার (রাঃ) বলেন, এরপর আমি কখনো ব্যক্তিগতভাবে বা বর্ণনা প্রসঙ্গে ঐরূপ শপথ করিনি।
The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Ibn 'Umar through a different chain of narrators to the same effect up to the words "by your fathers". This version adds:" 'Umar said: I swear by Allah, I never swore by it personally or reporting it from others
। আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাঃ) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেনঃ কেউ শপথ করতে গিয়ে যদি বলে, আমি লাত (নামক মূর্তির) নামে শপথ করে বলছি, তবে সে যেন অবশ্যই বলে- ‘‘আল্লাহ ছাড়া কোনো ইলাহ নেই।’’ আর যে ব্যক্তি তার সাথীকে বলে, আসো তোমার সাথে জুয়া খেলি, সে যেন কিছু সাদাকাহ করে।
Narrated Abu Hurairah:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone swears on oath is the course which he says: "By al-Lat" he should say: There is no god but Allah, and that if anyone says to his friend: Come and let me play for money with you, he should give something in charity (sadaqah)
