তিনি আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম -কে বলতে শুনেছেন, ‘‘বলতো যদি তোমাদের কারো বাড়ির সামনে একটি নদী থাকে, আর সে তাতে প্রত্যহ পাঁচবার গোসল করে, তাহলে কি তার দেহে কোন ময়লা থাকবে? তারা বললেন, তার দেহে কোনোরূপ ময়লা বাকী থাকবে না। আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বললেনঃ এ হলো পাঁচ ওয়াক্ত সালাতের উদাহরণ। এর মাধ্যমে আল্লাহ্ তা‘আলা (বান্দার) গুনাহসমূহ মিটিয়ে দেন। (মুসলিম ৫/৫১, হাঃ ৬৬৭, আহমাদ ৮৯৩৩) (আধুনিক প্রকাশনীঃ ৪৯৭, ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ)
Narrated Abu Huraira:
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him?" They said, "Not a trace of dirt would be left." The Prophet (ﷺ) added, "That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds
তিনি ‘আবদুল্লাহ্ ইবনু মাস‘ঊদ (রাযি.)-এর বাড়ির দিকে ইঙ্গিত করে বলেন, এ বাড়ির মালিক আমাদের নিকট বর্ণনা করেছেন, আমি আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম -কে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, কোন্ ‘আমল আল্লাহর নিকট অধিক প্রিয়? তিনি বললেন, ‘যথা সময়ে সালাত আদায় করা। ইবনু মাস‘ঊদ (রাযি.) পুনরায় জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, অতঃপর কোনটি? তিনি বললেন, অতঃপর পিতা-মাতার প্রতি সদ্ব্যবহার। ইবনু মাস‘ঊদ (রাযি.) আবার জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, অতঃপর কোনটি? আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বললেন, অতঃপর জিহাদ ফী সাবীলিল্লাহ্ (আল্লাহর পথে জিহাদ)। ইবনু মাস‘ঊদ (রাযি.) বলেন, এগুলো তো আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম আমাকে বলেছেনই, যদি আমি আরও অধিক জানতে চাইতাম, তাহলে তিনি আরও বলতেন। (২৭৮২, ৫৯৭০, ৭৫৩৪; মুসলিম ১/৩৬, হাঃ ৮৫, আহমাদ ৪২২৩) (আধুনিক প্রকাশনীঃ ৪৯৬, ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ)
Narrated `Abdullah:
I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) "Which deed is the dearest to Allah?" He replied, "To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times." I asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To be good and dutiful to your parents" I again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, 'To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's cause." `Abdullah added, "I asked only that much and if I had asked more, the Prophet (ﷺ) would have told me more

Narrated Ghailan:
Anas said, "I do not find (now-a-days) things as they were (practiced) at the time of the Prophet." Somebody said "The prayer (is as it was.)" Anas said, "Have you not done in the prayer what you have done?
তিনি বলেন, এক ব্যক্তি জনৈক মহিলাকে চুম্বন করে বসে। পরে সে আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর নিকট এসে বিষয়টি তাঁর গোচরীভূত করে। তখন আল্লাহ্ তা‘আলা আয়াত নাযিল করেনঃ ‘‘দিনের দু’প্রান্তে-সকাল ও সন্ধ্যায় এবং রাতের প্রথম অংশে সালাত কায়েম কর। নিশ্চয়ই ভালো কাজ পাপাচারকে মিটিয়ে দেয়’’- (হূদ ১১/১১৪)। লোকটি জিজ্ঞেস করলো, হে আল্লাহর রাসূল! এ কি শুধু আমার বেলায়? আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ আমার সকল উম্মাতের জন্যই। (৪৬৮৭; মুসলিম ৪৯/৭, হাঃ ২৭৬৩, আহমাদ ৩৬৫৩) (আধুনিক প্রকাশনীঃ ৪৯৫, ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ)
Narrated Ibn Mas`ud:
A man kissed a woman (unlawfully) and then went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and informed him. Allah revealed: And offer prayers perfectly At the two ends of the day And in some hours of the night (i.e. the five compulsory prayers). Verily! good deeds remove (annul) the evil deeds (small sins) (11.114). The man asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), "Is it for me?" He said, "It is for all my followers
