Tariq ibn Ashyam al-Ashja'i said, "We used to go and visit the
Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. On one occasion a man
and woman came and the man asked, 'Messenger of Allah, what should I say
when I pray?' He replied, 'Say, "O Allah, forgive me, show mercy to me,
guide me and provide for me.; They will combine this world and the Next
world for you.'"
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ مَتِّعْنِي بِسَمْعِي وَبَصَرِي، وَاجْعَلْهُمَا الْوَارِثَ مِنِّي، وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى عَدُوِّي، وَأَرِنِي مِنْهُ ثَأْرِي.
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, used to say, "O Allah, let me enjoy my sight and hearing
and make them remain sound until I die. Turn away my enemy and grant me
revenge on him."
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ مَوْلَى أُمِّ قَيْسِ ابْنَةِ مِحْصَنٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَهَا: مَا قَالَتْ: طَالَ عُمْرُهَا؟، وَلاَ نَعْلَمُ امْرَأَةً عُمِّرَتْ مَا عُمِّرَتْ.
Umm Qays reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant
him peace, said to her, "What she said will make her life long. They said,
"We do not know of any woman who was given the long life that she was given."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِي سَمْعِي وَبَصَرِي، وَاجْعَلْهُمَا الْوَارِثَيْنِ مِنِّي، وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنِي، وَأَرِنِي مِنْهُ ثَأْرِي.
Jabir reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, said, "O Allah, let my hearing and sight be sound
and make them remain sound until I die. Turn away from me the one who wrongs
me and give me revenge on him."
